Ciraccio
is one of the more crowded tourist hotspots
of the island because of its various campsites,
and is known above all, to be the longest,
busiest shore on the island.
Historically, seeing as the length of the
beach that connects Punta Serra with S.
Margherita Vecchia at Chiaiolella is so
long, the Procidani have always wanted to
distinguish between Ciraccio and Ciracciello,
pointing out that Ciracciello is the body
of sea adjacent to the waterfront of what
is today known as Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo.
Today the borderline is represented by two
characteristic tuff stacks created after
the collapse of the part of the coast that
separated the two beaches for a long time.

Another landslide which happened at Punta
Serra produced a small, “romantic”
beach. This beach is easily attainable and
can also be reached by swimming there.
Along Punta Serra, a beautiful path over
the sea offers visitors a marvellous panorama
of Procida, Vivara and Ischia and the atmosphere
becomes even more suggestive when the sun
sets.
