The “
Sagra del Pane”,
which is organized by the Parish of St.
Antonio, is held in the homonym quarter
in conjunction with the anniversary of St.
Antonio da Padova (13th June).
In the summer, there is the celebration
of the most typical product of the island,
the lemon.
In the “
Festa del Limone”,
the unbelievable peculiarities of the Procidan
lemon are made known to all the guests.
The Procidan lemon, at least double the
size of a normal lemon, has an almost sweet
taste and has the typical “albedo”
(pith), the white spongy layer that it is
found under the yellow rind.
Finally the “
Sagra del Vino”,
organized in the splendid quarter of Cottimo,
is celebrated when the grapes are harvested.
This period closes the Procidan tourist
season.
The Festivals, originally born as moments
of rediscovery of the agricultural tradition
of the island, are acquiring a greater
dimension with time.
