Like the rest of the peninsula, a couple of years back Procida started to give way to the so-called “rediscovery” of feasts or festivals- simple, genuine events which have slowly become moments of maximum aggregation of the Procidan community and which bring in the tourists at an amazing rate.
Whether the feasts are called “Procida Profumi e Sapori”, “Festa del Limone”, “Sagra del Pane” o “Sagra del Vino” is not important in the end considering that often in one festival the essence of the other is found. They are definitely the events in Procida that have taken off recently. The objective is not only to publicize and rediscover the typical products of the island, but also and above all to stimulate a genuine meeting of people and their history.
Music, songs, dances, shows, theatre, conferences and other events act as a frame to innumerable tastings of typical island products prepared lovingly by almost all the restaurants of the place and by every family of the neighborhood where the event is organized.
There are no precise dates for the organization of these events. “Procida Profumi e Sapori” begins immediately after the Easter period.
